Associates
An Associate of the Society
of St. Margaret is a person desirous of sharing in the life and work of the
Sisters while pursuing one’s own particular Christian vocation. Associates are
women and men, some are ordained, but all are persons for whom the Eucharist
holds a central place in their spiritual lives. Associate membership is open
to all the baptized, of whatever denominational affiliation.
Associates develop a Rule of Life with the assistance of a member of the
Community serving as Director of Associates. Associates have a special bond
with the Sisters based on shared values. Their relationship is one of mutual
support. Associates are remembered daily in the prayers of the Sisters and
are welcome as visitors in all Houses of the Society. For their part,
Associates pray daily for the life and ministry of the Sisters, assist
the Sisters in various projects as they are able and if possible, make
financial contributions. Associates need to maintain contact with the
Sisters and are encouraged to visit the Houses of the Society regularly.
Those living at a distance from any of the SSM Houses should be in touch
by writing the Director of Associates at least once a year.
Additional information about becoming an Associate of the Society of St.
Margaret is available upon request. We welcome your inquiry. Associate
members hold a valued place in the life of SSM.
