Your Invitation
You can prepare us for a future of God’s work in new places.
You can strengthen us in this work by praying for us, by supporting our ministries, and by giving of the substance of your life.
Your gift will help us carry forward our prayerful service by permitting us to reallocate our resources toward:
• our long-standing work in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, rebuilding ministries where our convent was destroyed in the earthquake of January, 2010,
• our historic presence in Boston, and our service to parishes in the metropolitan center,
• our work in New York City, where we served as chaplains and pastors in the aftermath of September 11, and continue to pray and witness to God’s call to peace and reconciliation.
Your gift will help us translate our prayers for the earth into the establishment of an environmentally responsible convent, one that will permit us to carry forward our ministries of prayer, worship, hospitality, and companionship in a setting that is both beautiful and respectful of the creation.
Your gift will help us provide the support essential to new Sisters who often need our help completing their education, preparing for citizenship examinations, and returning to their homes and families
on rest periods.
Your gift will help us care for our elder Sisters who have given their lives to our community of prayer and service, and who now require a greater degree of care than our community can give them.Your gift will help us secure the future of a ministry of constant prayer for the needs of the world, the Church, and all those who seek a deeper sense of God.
“The shape of the Sisters’ ministry changes, as our world changes, but
their focus and mission always remain the same. They are family to me.
The life they share is beautiful and challenging. The spirituality of
the Saint Margaret’s community matches my values, as their focus is a
life of prayer balanced by a life of service. It gives me joy to allow
the Sisters to put my gift to work.”
~ Fr. Philip Byrum, Wilson, NC, Associate of the Society of St. Margaret
